Multi-service Multiplexer FMXM-16 is a compact network element of small to medium capacity. It can be used as a multi-service access system for customer located applications or as a versatile compact wireline transmission system.

Multi-service Multiplexer FMXM-16 provides:
- Four multiplexers can be placed in one subrack
- One control unit manages four multiplexers
- Full cross-connect of all time slots and channels
- 14 user slots
- Software management
- Arbitrary Time Slot Assignment

- Modular design can be applied in various flexible network and user applications
- Supports many protocols for data transmission
- Extensive multiplexing and cross-connecting functions combined with a large number of voice and data transmission interfaces
- Applications – for various combinations of integrated services (POTS, ISDN-BRA, data etc.)
- Support of all analogue interfaces
- Support of a wide range of digital interfaces
- Built-in BER measuring instrument for each digital channel. Built-in tone generator for each voice channel.
Management, configuration and monitoring:
- The system uses Element Manager for local and remote management and monitoring
- The Element Manager has the following functions:
- Fault management
- Configuration management
- Performance management
- Security management
- Protocol for communication: HDLC
- For communication with the device it uses the free bits of the 0 timeslot
- The user interface is customized in Bulgarian language
- Options to export standard configurations
- Monitoring the status of the remote multiplexers
- Management of all devices in the network
- Test functionalities
- Management interfaces: serial RS.232 or LAN 10/100 BT

- External 2048kHz clock signal
- Tributary signal 64kbit/s or Nx64 kbit/s
- Clock synchronization output 2048 Kbit/s-ITU-T G.703
