Area Network Applications

Interconnection in a carrier telecommunications network for support of voice and data services.

The purpose is implementation and optimization of a network infrastructure between the points of presence of the carrier.

The network equipment and the interconnection of all the points of presence is designed according to a technical assignment, which takes into consideration the following:

  • The technical research of the assignment and the transmission media available
  • The organization of the interconnection points and the total capacity of the points of presence based on the current implementation, as well as new and future requirements for service provisioning
  • The list of requirements and the design of the technical solution
  • Marketing research for the realization of the solution according to technical and economic parameters
  • Implementation approaches

Example 1: Carrier 1 needs to interconnect with Carrier 2, therefore Carrier 1 needs a connection to the colocation rooms of Carrier 2, located in two different urban areas PoP(1) and PoP(2). There is optical connectivity already installed between the two carriers.

Carrier 1 needs to provide the following:

  • Digital leased line 34M framed with end points PoP(1) and town A Central Office
  • Digital leased line 2M framed with end points PoP(1) and town A Central Office
  • Digital leased line 8M framed with end points PoP(2) and town B Central Office
  • Digital leased line 2M framed with end points PoP(2) and town B Central Office
