Standard Multiplexer Applications - TDMoE Multiplexers
Due to the internet invasion and the packet switching more and more dominates the data transmission via LAN and MAN Networks. This approach gives to the customers use of an unified transport media for a larger class of services. From other side many of existing devices implement a standard interfaces, which are TDM based and therefore some time it is more efficient still to use the existing voice and data interfaces as TDM based due to the existing transmission network. These facts put in troubles the IP based carrier companies to fulfill the users demands.
To satisfy the need of these new types of equipment ECoCoMS created basically new multi service multiplexer implementing all types of existing standard user interfaces, but using as transport media LAN or WAN Networks with TDMoE (TDMoX) and TDMoIP as transport technology.
Substantial difference is that with one LAN interface one can manage more than one E1 streams. In the above example one device performs four virtual E1 streams and the aggregate speed is 9.5Mbit/s. The speed is increased due to the E1 encapsulation overhead.
This is implemented with the existing multi service multiplexer FMXM-16 with the new designed control unit with TDMoE (TDMoX) network interface. As it is shown in the above figure one of the multiplexers is set as master and it defines the clocks of the system and the other as slave, i.e. it derives clocks from the arriving packets for clock recovery of the E1 streams.
With this schema you can transmit via LAN/MAN networks POTS, E&M channels, ISDN PRA and ISDN PRI lines, V.35 channels, fractional and full framed and unframed E1 streams, as well as a lot of other configurations and combinations.
Soft-Switch and Signaling Converter Application
The need of integration of different functions and services and creation of distributed offices set a new requirements on the PBX implementations. The new solution is Soft-Switch. It is clear that the soft-switches will replace the existing PBX's. Such soft-switches are produced from many companies with a large variety of features and prices. Here we would like to propose you an Asterisk based VoIP solutions with ECoCoMS hardware, called VoIP SOHO PBX Family, which can cover with very good price to feature ratio the functions of notably more expensive implementation of Avaya, Cisco and e.t.c.
One proposal which is more or less educational follows:
Here a connections via the TDM network, using the PCI interface card ZAP4E1 to three legacy PBX's with a different type of signaling and a subscriber multiplexer, are shown. And this do not cover all possibilities to signaling conversion. Additionally a number of IP phone are connected to the VoIP server from the internet cloud, and for each phone a call restrictions are defined.
Via the LAN segment 240 POTS phone are connected to the VoIP server and again for each phone specific calling restriction can be defined.
Information for all successful and unsuccessful calls as well as their longitude is maintained in a database - Call Deatail Record (CDR) and via user friendly web based software can be displayed or retrieved for later post process for billing purposes.
